Are God’s standards too high?

“Why did God create humans as imperfect and set his standards so high that no one could possibly live up to them, then punish us for not living up to his standards?” I know you don’t recognize it, but the question itself is the voice of Satan.

Who says God’s standards are too high to attain? Which one of Jesus’ commandments are you unable to keep? Being honest in our earthly dealings? Do not steal from others? Honest prayer from a sincere heart? Do not hate others? Don’t be deceitful and two-faced? Don’t lust after the flesh or earthly treasures? Study God’s word? Trust him to do what he said he would do? Don’t cultivate evil thoughts in our mind? To love God by keeping these? These are out of reach? Only if we think we can go through life with a double standard and still please God.

Most people have no intention of letting go of the lusts and desires of the flesh, and to soothe their own conscience, they say nobody can please God. Most don’t really care whether or not they please God. They prefer instead to indulge themselves in the filth of this world and then blame God for the consequences of their actions. It is simple when we consider the truth of the matter. Which lifestyle do we love, God’s way or the way of the world? Out of reach? It depends on what we are reaching for. No man or woman can serve two masters.

Since the earliest words were spoken and written, God’s servants have always offered laws of decency for us to live by. But let’s suppose that none of these words were ever spoken or written and all we had were man’s words, like the ones coming from the Internet. Take away the few people who believe God and keep his word. Take away the Bible and the gospel of Jesus. While we’re at it, take away God, as ungodly people try to do. This would make a better world? Then who would we blame the sorrow and suffering on? Wouldn’t we have to face up to it and admit that lustful mankind is his own worst enemy?

Try to imagine that there was a time in past eons when NOTHING existed. Then in a blink of an eye, in eternal time, the heaven and the earth appeared, and here you and I are writing to each other. Then in another blink all is gone. This complex universe made from nothing that came from nowhere and is going back into the blackness of nonexistence. How is that easier to believe than life giving life? These Internet wizards who ridicule the word of God and his followers will soon be cut off and they will be judged according to their works. Eternal separation from the only source of life awaits them. They think they are here by accident rather than by design, so let them figure out what happens after they use up their few days on earth. Nothing to hold to, no hope, nothing!

God has a hidden kingdom within a kingdom. The kingdom of the earth is a place left to the devices of mankind, which brings forth much sorrow and suffering. The kingdom of heaven is a spiritual kingdom of hope and joy dwelling within those who are awakened by the voice of God sounding forth from his word. The fear of being cut off is removed by the promise of Jesus Christ our Lord.

Why did God’s son have to die in order for us to have eternal life? Because mankind in his arrogance and self-importance decided that he knew better than God how things began and where they are going. They left their first estate of innocence by eating of the knowledge of good and evil. Not from a tree of wood but from the eternal tree of God’s purpose. God, who cannot lie, said to man, in the day that you eat thereof you shall surely die. Man determined that he wanted to be like God, to know good and evil, so he ate of the knowledge of God.

You and I eat of this same tree that Adam and Eve ate from. We seek knowledge and understanding. We want to know the mind of God. When we come to the knowledge of truth, we realize that the flesh of man was never intended to be eternal; surely we shall die. But God, not willing that man should utterly perish both body and soul made a way of redemption. Since the curse of death was upon mankind for the original sin and the word of the Lord cannot be revoked, another plan had to be implemented. Someone else, without sin, would be required to take our place. The Lord Jesus took our sins upon himself and accepted the consequences of your sins and mine. He loved us enough that he wanted us to have life with him. He told us plainly how we should live, then purchased us with his blood.

Yet, even in religion, man is not satisfied to let God be God. He still wants to arrange the plan of God to suit himself, dividing and confusing the words of Christ. Not thankful for the love of Jesus but attempting to build manmade commandments on the holy name of Jesus.

Through the years I have engaged many people in all walks of religion, and admitted sinners as well, in discussions about the word of the Lord. It’s no trouble to find folks that are eager to hear what I have to say. They want to eat of the knowledge of God, but by and by, when they begin to realize it is straight and narrow and that one must endure hardship in the flesh, they become weary and drop out. For many years I have done what I am doing tonight, writing to others, trying to show them the light of truth and encouraging them to finish the course.

“But he that received the seed into stony places, the same is he that heareth the word, and anon with joy receiveth it; Yet hath he not root in himself, but dureth for a while: for when tribulation or persecution ariseth because of the word, by and by he is offended.” (Matthew 13:20-21)

We are told to run the race with patience, “And let us not be weary in well doing: for in due season we shall reap, if we faint not.” (Galatians 6:9)

I have many more things to talk about that most have never been allowed to understand. Things that are for those who are of full age in the Lord. This is why I don’t let filth like the man put out on the Internet bother me. It doesn’t cause one flicker of doubt and not a moment’s hesitation, I know whom I have believed. He has taught me things that are unspeakable in most circles, far beyond anything these ungodly, self-important men and women think they know. They exalt themselves before Satan their father and their end will be accordingly.

May God bless you.
