“Hast thou commanded the morning since thy days; and caused the dayspring to know his place; That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it?” (Job 38:12-13)

No, we have not commanded the dawning of a new day, but God has. “Through the tender mercy of our God; whereby the dayspring from on high hath visited us.” And the night has ended with the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ, “To give light to them that sit in darkness and in the shadow of death, to guide our feet into the way of peace.” (Luke 1:78-79)

“We have also a more sure word of prophecy; whereunto ye do well that ye take heed, as unto a light that shineth in a dark place, until the day dawn, and the day star arise in your hearts.” (2 Peter 1:19)

The word of prophecy pointed to Christ, the dawning of a new day. The light of day when the hidden things of darkness are revealed. “That it might take hold of the ends of the earth, that the wicked might be shaken out of it.”

The ends of the earth, the beginning and the end. God has and will shake the wicked out of his creation.

God, our heavenly Father, “Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain.” (Hebrews 12:26-27) The things of Spirit, which are a gift from God.

But we must dig deep into the word of God and build on that sure foundation of truth, which is Christ our Lord. Such a foundation will stand against all the storms that beat against it. Truth cannot be shaken.

Jesus said, “He is like a man which built an house, and digged deep, and laid the foundation on a rock: and when the flood arose, the stream beat vehemently upon that house, and could not shake it: for it was founded upon a rock.” (Luke 6:48)

But how are the wicked shaken from heaven? “And there was war in heaven: Michael and his angels fought against the dragon; and the dragon fought and his angels, And prevailed not; neither was their place found any more in heaven. And the great dragon was cast out, that old serpent, called the Devil, and Satan,” (the spirit of antichrist) “which deceiveth the whole world: he was cast out into the earth, and his angels were cast out with him.” (Revelation 12:7-9)

Where are they now? “For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles of Christ.” (2 Corinthians 11:13) The churches are overrun by them. “And from the days of John the Baptist until now the kingdom of heaven suffereth violence, and the violent take it by force.” (Matthew 11:12)

The prophet Daniel saw this day of sorrow that is now, when Satan completely controls the minds of the deceived. A picture of our world today.

“And an host was given him against the daily sacrifice by reason of transgression, and it cast down the truth to the ground; and it practised, and prospered.” (Daniel 8:12)

“An host was given him,” an army the likes of which has never been assembled against the truth. Look around the world and here at home. How many worship the one true God and his truth? Instead, they worship the god of false religion which casts down the truth.

The daily sacrifice is this, “By him therefore let us offer the sacrifice of praise to God continually, that is, the fruit of our lips giving thanks to his name.” (Heb 13:15)

A fearful time of great tribulation which ushers in the terrible shaking of God’s wrath. “Who can stand before his indignation? and who can abide in the fierceness of his anger? his fury is poured out like fire, and the rocks are thrown down by him.” (Nahum 1:6)

Have you seen? “When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand.)” (Matthew 24:15)

Do you understand? We are seeing the forces of evil pull down the truth of God’s word and trample it underfoot. A country without God can only bring forth suffering and death. This country is hated by many around the world that would like nothing more than to see it destroyed. What if God has lifted his protection?

“Wait on the LORD, and keep his way, and he shall exalt thee to inherit the land: when the wicked are cut off, thou shalt see it.” (Psalm 37:34)
