One great misconception in religion today is the notion that “giving your heart to Christ” is a guarantee that all will be trouble free from that point on. Go to church, do the routine they prescribe, give your money (the more you give, the more God owes you) and your blessings will be more than you can contain.
Satan knows that the most effective way to combat God’s influence among mankind is to “join the church.” His first line of attack is to bring into question the word of God. He misuses, twists, misquotes, misconstrues, misinterprets, and causes religious confusion on a grand scale.
Many in religion study the Bible, not to find truth, but to try to confirm their own beliefs that are not as demanding as the straight and narrow way that Jesus taught. They hold to a verse or two that seems to say what they want to hear without ever looking at it in the light of all scripture. God is not confused; his word is not in contradiction. If one writer of the word builds a concept, another will not tear it down. There is no tolerance for those who, like the Pharisees, close their eyes so they will not see.
“Join the church of your choice” is popular with the multitudes who want to soothe their conscience with the balm of religion, but without the price of righteousness. Jesus said, “I am the way, the truth, and the life.” (John 14:6) He did not offer a choice of ways.
False apostles teach that the words of Jesus are not meant for our time and that keeping them is beyond our ability; therefore, they can be ignored. This broad, easy way is well oiled with money and influence from high-ranking people who support the beast of deception.
I don’t want you to fall by the wayside. I want you to have the knowledge and understanding that leads to eternal life if we obey it. As I have said before, Jesus came the first time as a meek and lowly servant to mankind, giving himself as a sacrifice for us. But when he comes again in the revelation of his word, he brings judgment and vengeance upon all who refuse him.
We must get beyond the question of why God did things the way he did. He is the creator; we are the creature. If it pleased him that we should find him through Jesus Christ, his son, who are we to find fault with his plan? This is where many people stumble. They are not satisfied with the way things are written; they want to “improve” them. This is why we see so many different doctrines today. Each group has rearranged the things they don’t like. This is that antichrist spirit, sitting in the temple (body of flesh) showing himself that he is God.
“Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God” (the word is God) “or that is worshipped; so that he as God” (teaching his own doctrine) “sitteth in the temple of God” (know ye not that you are the temple of the Holy Ghost) “shewing himself that he is God.“
