Scripture offends religion

In the book of Revelation chapter 12, John saw a great wonder. Remember the woman clothed with the sun and the moon under her feet? How the dragon was there ready to devour the child as soon as it was born? As soon as Jesus (the word) is born in your heart, by the Spirit of truth, the dragon (antichrist spirit) is there to steal it away.

For four years you went to church with these folks. You were well received as long as you blindly followed their teaching and routine. But, when your eyes of understanding are opened and you begin to learn the truth, that spirit of deception begins to stir and fight against you. This is why I warned you ahead of time, so you would not be taken by surprise.

You are intelligent and it’s easy to show you God’s word. I’m sure you have noticed that I only repeat what the Lord has already said. Then we have to wonder, why should the scripture offend church people? The answer is, as long as they can assign the mysteries of God to a future time, they don’t have to deal with them today. Being comfortable in the bed of deception, they don’t want to be disturbed. Let the light of Christ reveal their works and they are offended. Show them, by the word, how these things apply today and they fight against the truth, all the while thinking they do God a service. Religion, conceived by man’s earthly understanding, has always fought against truth.

Think about this. I gave you the exact same words that I offer others. Your heart is open and receives these words, but others can’t receive them. To some, the word of God gives light; to some, it further blinds them. Remember, the word of God is quick and powerful, dividing good and evil. Let us rejoice that Jesus showed us the way out of darkness.

Religion is not accustomed to being openly challenged by the word. The consensus has always been, you go to your church, and I’ll go to mine. You believe what you want to believe, and I’ll believe what I want to believe. Don’t rock the boat, so to speak.

Don’t be afraid. I will help you as long as God allows me.
