My family in the Lord means much to me. I want all of us to have eternal life with him. I look forward to the day that I can be forever free from pain and sorrow and be with the Lord. We must work daily in the kingdom of God, redeeming the time that God has allotted us.
Here is something I have mentioned before, but it is worthy of mention again because I don’t want you to lose sight of what the Lord is doing for you. Already you have been shown and have received many revelations of the spirit that the world cannot see. While it troubles us to see so many people who are lost in spiritual darkness, it also comforts us to know that we are lifted up and our feet are firmly planted on the truth, as revealed by the Holy Ghost.
The Lord worked things out according to his purpose in you and in me. He could have let us continue on the same path, you attending your church, and I might never have known about your spiritual hunger. But he brought us together for this very reason, that you might receive the same which the Lord has freely given me.
The truth of God’s word has a different sound to it. It has new meaning. It moves old concepts and establishes new. The truth brings light where there was once darkness. Remember I have told you that the word of God is darkness to some and great light to others. Many read the scriptures and never see beyond the natural application for a future time. Waiting for light and understanding to come with the passing of time. If the light of understanding has not yet revealed the enemy, they have no reason to flee.
When we see spiritual wickedness revealed to our “eyes of understanding,” then let us flee from this unholy spirit because God will send his wrath upon this people as he did when Lot fled from Sodom. I hope some time to show you this scripture about Lot’s escape, and about one being taken and one being left.
The word of God coming to life in your spiritual understanding is the Holy Ghost. There is no other source of truth. Many that I have talked to over the years are never able to grasp the understanding of the spirit. Instead, they hold to a natural interpretation of the written word, for the flesh.
Many wonderful revelations of the spirit have been given to me, yet I have nothing at all to boast of. It did not come because of anything that I did. Not because I chose God but rather that he chose me. We have not yet begun to touch on many glorious things that I see, but God willing, when you are able we will.
I have told you from the start that there is no confusion in the word of God, and that it all fits together. Surely you see that this is true, and that Jesus Christ guides me?
The prophet Joel foretold of the day when God would pour out his spirit upon all flesh. That day began on the day of Pentecost two thousand years ago and it continues today, because the prophet of God said that God’s spirit would be poured out upon all flesh. Peter said on that day, this is that which was spoken by the prophet Joel.
This day came in a time of gloominess and thick darkness. (Joel 2:2) Spiritual darkness that could only be penetrated by the light of Christ. The revelation of the words of Jesus came within the hearts and minds of his people on that day and continues today. The day of the Lord. The day of the spirit. This generation (of the spirit) shall not pass until all things are fulfilled.
Not only is the spirit of God poured out upon the faithful to bring them understanding and joy, but it is also poured out upon the unbelievers, bringing them spiritual darkness and great tribulation. Our God is a God of love, and also a God of fierce judgment.
Speaking of the evil workers in this day of thick darkness, Joel said, “A fire devoureth before them; and behind them a flame burneth: the land is as the garden of Eden before them, and behind them a desolate wilderness; yea, and nothing shall escape them.” (Joel 2:3)
The word of God is pure and holy, providing rest for the weary. But the beast of unclean spirits dwelling in the multitudes of the deceived, resists the Lord’s word and attempts to take the promised land by force, preaching for doctrine the commandments of men. “And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men.” (Revelation 13:13)
“And the tongue is a fire, a world of iniquity: so is the tongue among our members, that it defileth the whole body, and setteth on fire the course of nature; and it is set on fire of hell.” (James 3:6) Divided and confused words of iniquity, devouring the land before them. Laying waste the garden of Eden of God’s word, and leaving a desolate wilderness behind them.
When the spirit of Jesus Christ came on the day of Pentecost, these enemies of God were revealed. “And there appeared unto them cloven tongues like as of fire, and it sat upon each of them.” (Acts 2:3) Cloven tongues means divided tongues. Not speaking the same things. “Like as of fire.” As James said, “the tongue is a fire.” And it, the revealing spirit of God, “sat upon each of them.” “And they were all filled with the Holy Ghost, and began to speak with other tongues, as the Spirit gave them utterance.” (Verse 4) The land of Eden restored by the truth of the word of God. What were the other tongues?
“So likewise ye, except ye utter by the tongue words easy to be understood, how shall it be known what is spoken? for ye shall speak into the air.” (1 Corinthians 14:9) What were the other tongues on the day of Pentecost? The multitude was confounded, “because every man heard them speak in his own language.” (Acts 2:6) Speaking the gospel of Jesus Christ with power and understanding. No longer consumed with “cloven tongues like as of fire” but drawn together as one with Christ Jesus in the truth.
With the coming of the Holy Ghost comes the revelation of good and evil. Spirits dwelling in people which were before hidden, until our “eyes of understanding” are opened. Satan no longer appears as an angel of light, while speaking with “cloven tongues like as of fire.” He is cast out of the kingdom of heaven to the earth. Unleashing his fury upon the inhabitants of the earth with lying wonders and deceiving spirits. “And many false prophets shall rise, and shall deceive many.” (Matthew 24:11)
“When ye therefore shall see the abomination of desolation, spoken of by Daniel the prophet, stand in the holy place, (whoso readeth, let him understand:)” (Matthew 24:15) Daniel the prophet foretold of the coming destruction of Jerusalem, the city of God. Overrun by armies of unbelievers, desecrating the temple of God, and ignoring the ordinances of God. Standing in the holy place.
“When ye therefore shall see“ by the revelation of the Holy Ghost, “the abomination of desolation” the spiritual city of God laid waste by armies of unbelievers and “many false prophets” working all manner of unclean things in the temple of God (“your body is the temple of the Holy Ghost” (1 Corinthians 6:19)), then understand.
“Then let them which be in Judaea flee into the mountains.” (Matthew 24:16) To whom does this scripture speak? To God’s chosen people. “But he is a Jew, which is one inwardly.” (Romans 2:29) Born again by the Holy Ghost. As Jesus said, a man must be born again to see the kingdom of God. (John 3:3) When you see this abomination of false religion and unclean spirits standing in the holy place, in the word of God, defiling the temple (the spirit and flesh of man), flee into the mountains.
The woman John saw and told us about in the book of Revelation is the church, the chosen of God. “And the woman fled into the wilderness, where she hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her there a thousand two hundred and threescore days.” (Revelation 12:6) The kingdom of God is represented by seven days, the completion of all things. One thousand, two hundred, and threescore days, or 3 1/2 years, represents the time since Christ came.
“And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.” (Revelation 12:14) Wings of the spirit of God to carry his people to a place of safety, where they will be nourished.
The disciples asked Jesus, “Where, Lord? And he said unto them, Wheresoever the body is, thither will the eagles be gathered together.” (Luke 17:37) Wheresoever the body is? Jesus, when eating the last supper with his disciples, said, “Take, eat: this is my body, which is broken for you.” (1 Corinthians 11:24 and Matthew 26:26)
“Whoso eateth my flesh, and drinketh my blood, hath eternal life; and I will raise him up at the last day. For my flesh is meat indeed, and my blood is drink indeed.” (John 6:54-55) His flesh is the word. “And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us.” (John 1:14) While in the wilderness of sin, God’s people are nourished on the word of truth, which is the body of Christ our Lord.
“Let him which is on the housetop not come down to take any thing out of his house.” (Matthew 24:17) The house tops in those days were flat. Peter was on the housetop when he prayed and saw the vision from God. In times of trouble, the housetop was a vantage point from which one could watch for the approaching enemy. Not all were on the housetop. Not all watched. But when you see the enemy by the revelation of the Holy Ghost, flee the wrath of God. Make no provisions for the flesh because the faithful, “hath a place prepared of God, that they should feed her.” They, the writers of the word and the angel of God revealing the word.
“Neither let him which is in the field return back to take his clothes.” (Verse 18) “Therefore I say unto you, Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat, or what ye shall drink; nor yet for your body, what ye shall put on. Is not the life more than meat, and the body than raiment?” (Matthew 6:25)
The things of the spirit are eternal and of more value than the material things of the earth. Jesus warned us about seeking earthly things and laying up treasures on earth. An individual who seeks after these things, providing only for the flesh, shall lose his life in the spirit. He or she that seeks to save their life in the spirit shall lose their life in the flesh. The Holy Ghost becoming the dominant master. No man can serve two masters. The Lord said, “choose you this day whom ye will serve.”
“Watch ye therefore: for ye know not when the master of the house cometh, at even, or at midnight, or at the cockcrowing, or in the morning: Lest coming suddenly he find you sleeping.” (Mark 13:35-36)
We are being shown by the word that we must turn loose of our love and trust in worldly possessions (lose our life) and flee to the spirit of Christ, our Lord (find our life). When we see false religion and the prince of darkness, the word says, “Come out of her, my people, that ye be not partakers of her sins, and that ye receive not of her plagues.” (Revelation 18:4)
I had this letter done to this point. I was caught up with my writing so I went ahead with some of the things we have discussed. Let me go into more detail about this generation mentioned in Matthew 24:34.
Jesus said, “Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.” Generation means, “a generating, production, or to bring into being.” The spirit of God is eternal, without beginning of days or ending of days. This chain or generation of the word of God shall not pass till all is fulfilled. It will accomplish all that is written. Jesus says as much in the next verse. “Heaven and earth shall pass away, but my words shall not pass away.” (Verse 35)
When we are dead in sins and trespasses, we know nothing about the word of God being alive and fulfilled, but when the “spirit of truth” opens our “eyes of understanding,” we become part of the generation of the spirit. “Not by works of righteousness which we have done, but according to his mercy he saved us, by the washing of regeneration, and renewing of the Holy Ghost.” (Titus 3:5)
This regeneration and renewing of the Holy Ghost is a continual process, which shall not pass till all things are fulfilled. All that are born of the Holy Ghost are of the same eternal generation. All the children of the Holy Ghost witness the fulfilling of the word of God. This is why Jesus said, “behold, the kingdom of God is within you.” All the kingdom! The fulfilling of the word is not gauged by the fulfilling of earthly events, but is fulfilled by the unfolding of the hidden things of the spirit. When you therefore see these things being revealed within your spirit and understand them, know that you are part of the generation of the Holy Ghost.
“Take no thought for your life, what ye shall eat; neither for the body, what ye shall put on.” (Luke 12:22) Don’t worry! Take no thought for the future. “Which of you by taking thought can add one cubit unto his stature?” (Matthew 6:27) Because we might be as the rich man who had so much earthly wealth that he didn’t have room to contain it. Proud and at ease with himself for all his planning and thrift. “But God said unto him, Thou fool, this night thy soul shall be required of thee: then whose shall those things be, which thou hast provided?” (Luke 12:20)
“For all these things do the nations of the world seek after: and your Father knoweth that ye have need of these things.” (Luke 12:30) “And having food and raiment let us be therewith content.” (1 Timothy 6:8) Let us set our hearts on things that are eternal.
