Our Lord made us a promise that cannot fail, because his words are the words of God. Jesus said, “For there is nothing hid, which shall not be manifested; neither was any thing kept secret, but that it should come abroad.” (Mark 4:22)
When the apostle Paul said that the wisdom of God is a mystery, he also told us how it comes abroad, now, as Jesus said it would.
“But we speak the wisdom of God in a mystery, even the hidden wisdom, which God ordained before the world unto our glory.” (1 Corinthians 2:7) Then he tells us in verse ten how the mysteries are unlocked and made known.
“But God hath revealed them unto us by his Spirit: for the Spirit searcheth all things, yea, the deep things of God.” Some people say that these revelations were given only to the apostles, and not to others. Is this what the word of the Lord says?
A great number of people in this country say they have been born again and are filled with the Holy Ghost. Since God is the only true judge, he alone knows if this is true. Jesus makes it clear for us.
“But the Comforter, which is the Holy Ghost, whom the Father will send in my name, he shall teach you all things, and bring all things to your remembrance, whatsoever I have said unto you.” (John 14:26)
Then ought we to have a multitude of Bible teachers and preachers that have understanding of the mysteries of God’s word? And they all should hear and obey the words of Paul, which came from God.
“Now I beseech you, brethren, by the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, that ye all speak the same thing, and that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.” (1 Corinthians 1:10)
The words of the apostle Paul are true and they are recorded in heaven, and he knew exactly where they came from. “But I certify you, brethren, that the gospel which was preached of me is not after man. For I neither received it of man, neither was I taught it, but by the revelation of Jesus Christ.” (Galatians 1:11-12)
If all that say they are born again and are taught by the revelation of Jesus Christ, the spirit would be the same spirit that Paul received. Then, we need to examine this claim by the gospel that is written for us because “All scripture is given by inspiration of God, and is profitable for doctrine, for reproof, for correction, for instruction in righteousness.” (2 Timothy 3:16)
The revelation of Jesus Christ that Paul received said that all should “speak the same thing.” And, “that there be no divisions among you; but that ye be perfectly joined together in the same mind and in the same judgment.“
This speaks to all preachers and congregations everywhere that claim the name of Christ as their guide. Now be honest with yourself, is this what you see in all the churches? Or do you hear different beliefs and doctrines being taught? Are there divisions? Paul asked a question that must be answered, “Is Christ divided?” God is not the author of confusion.
Many times in my 85 years I have heard the same weak excuse. “Doctrine doesn’t matter, we all serve the same Lord.” My suggestion then is do a careful search of God’s word and confirm this statement. You won’t find one word that approves division of any kind between the churches that say they follow Jesus Christ.
