When does truth come to us?
We must first receive the spirit of truth from God the Father, which comes by the teaching of Jesus Christ.
Can we find the truth of God’s Word?
There are numerous church denominations teaching conflicting doctrines and interpretations of God’s word. How do we know which one is teaching the truth?
Let the scriptures answer
True biblical meaning is revealed only through God’s Spirit, making worldly wisdom and institutional religion insufficient on their own. If you have questions about spiritual things, you can find the answers in the scriptures.
Stop drinking water?
“Drink no longer water, but use a little wine for thy stomach’s sake and thine often infirmities.” (1 Timothy 5:23) Taking this verse literally would absurdly mean people must completely stop drinking water. You cannot choose to apply a fraction of the sentence literally and ignore the rest.
Source of truth
The word of God coming to life in your spiritual understanding is the Holy Ghost. There is no other source of truth. Many people struggle to see beyond a “natural” or literal interpretation of the scriptures, leaving them in spiritual darkness.
Don’t take the truth lightly
The truth of the kingdom of God cannot be taken lightly. It is precious, it is holy. We will not be allowed to trample this holy thing under foot.
Satan is ready to steal the truth
Satan will attempt to steal away the truth by any means possible. Sometimes using well-liked pastors and church members to convince you that the word doesn’t mean what it says.
Spirit awakened by the truth
Your spirit awakened by the truth of the Holy Ghost. Your eyes opened to the glorious light of Christ our Lord. Your thinking being reshaped to conform to the gospel.
Obedience to the word
True spiritual growth is achieved by receiving, understanding, and actively obeying the word of God
Light penetrates the darkness
When the light begins to penetrate the darkness of this world, we find ourselves in a terrible dilemma. We know that to continue in darkness has a dreadful ending. On the other hand, to follow the light to its source requires a daily effort on our part.
The word is God
The word is God; not one word will fail. No promise will go unfulfilled. No one will escape the judgment of his words.
Search for spiritual understanding
Spiritual understanding is necessary to comprehend scripture. Because the words of Jesus are spiritual, they cannot be understood through human intellect alone. Believers must rely on the spiritual gift of wisdom and revelation to perceive the full richness of the gospel.
Importance of spiritual understanding
When we read the scriptures that Jesus and his apostles gave us, is it important that we understand what we read? Or, is it enough just to read a chapter or two, then lay it aside without further thought?
Truth never changes
God is not the author of confusion. The existence of thousands of competing church doctrines proves they have rejected the truth of the gospel in favor of manmade doctrines.
How can you recognize the Holy Ghost?
To those who keep his commandments, Jesus said, “I will love him, and will manifest myself to him.” (John 14:21) This is the day that the son of man is revealed to you. No longer do you look to the future for his coming, he is already with you.
There is no confusion in the truth
Do you hear different beliefs and doctrines being taught? Are there divisions? Paul asked a question that must be answered, “Is Christ divided?”
